Windows Backup Options
Does your version of Windows do backups? Most of them do! Some versions can even restore your system completely if your computer crashes and can't easily be recovered. See the chart below to see if yours does.
Norton Ghost 15. So, if your version of Windows does backup, then why buy Norton Ghost? Well, unlike most Windows Backup offerings, Norton Ghost offers incremental backups. So, as well as automatically protecting your computer, backup times are shorter because it only backups up the parts of your data that has changed.

And if your version of Windows doesn't do backups, then Norton Ghost 15 is the product we'd recommend. Easy to use, there's also an off-site backup facility. You can set Norton to backup to a remote location for additional peace of mind.

The technically minded will appreciate Norton Ghost's 'Cold Imaging'. This feature is the ability to backup a partition directly from the CD, without having to install Ghost on to a computer first.

This page is about choosing backup software. Our shop has all the backup software for you to choose from, but we like to recommend. We think, however, that there's currently only one product that we would recommend that you buy, and that's Norton Ghost 15. Our previous favourite Acronis True Image 2010 is now at a new version, Acronis True Image 2011, and it is this new version that is attracting seriously poor reviews. We hope that Acronis fix the problems at some point in the future.

But we like to do things for free. And we like to tell you if you can do it for free too...
